Just realized my old coffee can worm bin is way better than the fancy one I bought

I was sure the $80 plastic tumbler was the answer, but after 6 months, my free setup with holes poked in the lid and shredded junk mail works faster with zero smell. Anyone else find the simple way just works better in a small space?

Honestly, it's the same with so many things. We get sold on the idea that a new product will solve all our problems. My fanciest compost bin just sits there while a simple bucket with a lid does the real work. Sometimes the best tools are the ones you already have and don't cost a thing. All that plastic and marketing just complicates a simple process.
