Shoutout to the guy at the farmers market who told me to freeze my scraps first

I was keeping my kitchen caddy out on the counter for a few days, and it started to smell like old soup after about 36 hours. He said to just toss scraps in a bag in the freezer until my compost bin is ready for them, and now my apartment smells totally normal. Has anyone else tried this freezer trick with a worm bin?

Yeah, I thought it was a dumb extra step too. Totally fixed the smell problem for my worm bin though.
