Showerthought: I was drowning my worm bin for 4 months and the smell was my own fault
I kept smelling that sour rot in my closet bin and figured it was just part of apartment composting, so I added more dry leaves every time. Then a guy at the community garden on 5th Street poked a finger in my bin and said it was way too wet at the bottom, not too dry on top. I had been pouring in a half cup of water every 2 days because a video told me to, and cutting that out killed the smell in about a week. Anyone else overwater a bin because you thought damp meant healthy?

Yep, moisture rises so the bottom gets swampy way before the top looks wet.
