Ran into a weird one on a fridge yesterday

Got a call about a Frigidaire that wasn't cooling right, figured it was the compressor or maybe a bad start relay. Turned out the condenser coil was packed solid with dog hair and dust, took me almost 45 minutes just to clean it out. Has anyone else seen units get that bad or is it just me?

Had a similar job last month where a lady's fridge was barely running, pulled it out and found a whole layer of lint and cat fur caked on the condenser coils, almost like a felt blanket. @williams90 you're right, 45 minutes is pretty standard for one that's been ignored for years, I had to use a shop vac and a stiff brush to get it all off. Makes you wonder how some people let it get that bad, but hey, at least it was an easy fix once you get in there.

Wow, 45 minutes cleaning a coil is about average for some of the neglected ones I've seen.
