I tried both a Silky and a Corona handsaw on the same oak branch last week and the difference was night and day.
The Silky cut through that 6-inch limb in about half the strokes the Corona needed, but the Corona's blade didn't bind up as much in green wood so I'm still torn on which one to carry daily - what do you all prefer for live cuts?

That exact thing happened to me with my Silky on a wet maple limb about two years ago. I was maybe 15 feet up and the blade just locked up solid halfway through, took me twenty minutes of wiggling and swearing to get it loose. I ended up keeping the Corona in my truck for live cuts and only use the Silky for dead, dry stuff now.

My buddy Rob tried the Silky on a big live oak limb and ended up with the blade stuck halfway through, had to cut the branch off at the trunk to free it. He switched back to his old Corona the next day and says he'll never touch a Japanese saw again for green wood.
