inTIL I was wrong about skipping the layout lines on a deck frame
That "measure twice, cut once" line is everywhere for a reason. I see the same rush in my own cooking, skipping prep to get straight to cooking and then burning the garlic. The foundational step is always the one you regret skipping.

inHit 50 hours on a deck rebuild and realized the 'DIY saves money' thing is kinda wrong for me
Ever think that hidden cost was just being dramatic? I totally did. But @shanegibson is right, that mental load is real. I'll be trying to watch a show and my brain is just looping about the paint color I picked or if I bought enough sandpaper. It's like a second, unpaid job just worrying about the first one.

inWarning: I saw a guy in the Cincinnati shop run a job with the wrong tool offset by 0.010 and it didn't crash
Used to think a crash was the only real sign of a big mistake. Seeing a machine just plow through and make scrap changed my mind for good. What's your backup check before hitting cycle start?

inA client in Austin told me her skin felt 'like a cactus' after a new serum
Ever feel like a lizard shedding its skin? That tight cactus feeling is usually a sign the product is too strong or the wrong fit. Maybe she jumped into a high concentration without building up to it first.

inI tried a new way to check my crane's level on a site in Phoenix
Wow, that's a serious eye-opener! I always trusted those bubble levels too, figured they were good enough. Your story makes me realize how much I might be missing. I bet that two degrees feels huge when you're moving a load. Now I'm wondering what else I've been doing the old way just because it's how I learned. I need to look into a digital level for my own rig.
