The 3D scan of a cow bone that made me eat crow

So I've been following this local field school near Santa Fe that posts their finds online. Last month they put up a 3D scan of a cracked cow bone with weird cut marks. I figured it was just a butchering thing, you know, someone was hungry 200 years ago. I even commented that they were hyping a lunch scrap. Turns out the marks were from a specific type of stone tool used around 9,000 BCE. A buddy of mine who studies lithics said the pattern matched stuff from the Clovis site in New Mexico. I spent 20 minutes zooming into the scan and comparing it to published photos. It was legit. I had to delete my comment and apologize in the thread. Has anyone else been that confident about a find and gotten absolutely roasted?
