I called rice cookers a waste of counter space for years, then my sister made dinner in one at her place in Fresno
For about 8 years I stood over a pot on the stove, stirring and scraping the bottom because I thought a machine could not get rice right. My sister plugged in her cheap one while we talked, and 25 minutes later the grains came out separate with zero burnt layer, which my pot never manages. Now I use it 4 nights a week for rice, oatmeal, and even steamed eggs, and my stove stays clean. Does anyone have a good way to cook dried beans in one of these, or do I need to soak them first like normal?
