I used to think Manchester was just another city, but then I saw the number of parks

I've been living in NH for about 5 years, always in small towns. I always told people Manchester was just too busy and not worth visiting. But last weekend I had to drive through for a work thing and saw a map of the city parks online. There's like 22 of them? I stopped at Livingston Park for a hour and it was actually really nice with a lake. Idk, maybe I was wrong about the city vibe. Has anyone else found a hidden gem in Manchester that changed their mind about it?

That bit about "22 parks" got me. I grew up in a town with one park and it was basically a patch of dirt next to the highway. Last year I had to wait for my car to get fixed in Manchester and stumbled into the little pocket park on Elm Street by the library. Sat on a bench for 45 minutes watching pigeons fight over a dropped bagel. Not exactly a hidden gem but it beat sitting in a tire shop. I still wouldn't move there though.

Wait, pigeons and a dropped bagel is high-class entertainment or am I just that desperate? Haha. I once sat on a bench in a park that was basically a glorified traffic median and watched a squirrel try to steal a french fry from a toddler. The kid won, but the squirrel gave him such a look. Honestly, sometimes those scrappy little parks have more personality than the fancy ones with the fountains and tulips. I am definitely the type to get invested in a pigeon turf war like it's a documentary.
