TIL a $25 windshield sun shade is worth it in Manchester

I always thought those foil shades were a scam until I parked facing west for 3 hours at the Mall of New Hampshire and came back to a steering wheel I could barely touch. My dash thermometer read 148 degrees before, and after putting one up it stayed under 90 on a 92 degree day. Has anyone else found a cheap fix that actually makes a difference in this summer heat?
