Am I the only one who thinks the 'just Google it' advice for forum questions is often unhelpful?

I spent nearly 3 hours last week trying to fix a specific error in my forum's search function because every article I found was too general, and I finally solved it by asking a direct question in a developer Discord group.

Found them once, but the answer was in Russian (go figure).

Three hours on a search bug sounds like my personal nightmare. The worst is when you find a forum thread from 2008 with your exact problem and the last post just says "never mind, fixed it." Drives me crazy. That direct question in a Discord is the only thing that ever works for me anymore. Google just points you in circles.
