Appreciation post: The guy who told me I was overcomplicating my forum replies

Someone on here told me to stop using big words and just talk normal. I started typing like I actually speak and people actually respond now. What's the best piece of feedback you got that made you change how you post?

Wait, someone actually told you that? And it worked? That's wild to me. I spent years formatting my posts like I was writing for a college paper. Big words, perfect grammar, citations even. Nobody responded. Ever. Then one day I got called out for sounding like a robot. Started typing how I talk. Dropped the fancy language. Night and day difference. People actually engage now. Crazy how we overthink this stuff.

Honestly, I gotta push back a little here. Is typing what you'd actually say really that profound? I mean, it's just talking on the internet. I talk like I talk in person, and people still ignore me half the time. Maybe it's not the words, maybe it's just what you're saying.
