Serious question, did a long dig story change how you handle waiting?
I read about an archaeological site in Greece where they slowly uncovered a theater over thirty years. In my experience, we get upset if a package is late. This made me see that some work just cannot be rushed. Your mileage may vary, but it gave me new respect for slow, careful jobs. Take this with a grain of salt, but it helped me chill out about my own delayed plans.
