Just realized my small town library changed me more than I thought
Back in 2018 I walked into the public library in Hudson, Wisconsin looking for a book and ended up finding a local history archive that had old newspaper clippings from the 1800s. Spent 3 hours just reading about the town's founding and realized I'd been missing out on my own community's stories. Anyone else ever stumble into something cool at a small library like that?

Had a buddy find a handwritten ledger from the 1920s stashed behind old census books in his town's library. Told me it was a local general store's record book with names he recognized from his own family tree.

Is it just me or does it feel like people sleep on the stuff hiding in plain sight in their own towns? I've noticed the same thing with old hardware stores and diners, they've got stories in them if you stop and look around a bit.
