Question about my drying technique after a 6 week class in San Diego

After struggling with cracking for months, a fellow potter pointed out I was wrapping my pots in plastic too tight, and now I leave them loose for the first 3 days and everything changed, anyone else find the sweet spot with their wrapping?

Did you have to rehydrate anything once you loosened the wrap?

Did you have to rehydrate anything" - honestly that kinda goes against what I found works for me. I actually think the whole idea of covering pots at all is kinda overrated for most throwing. I stopped using plastic altogether after my first year and just let things dry naturally with a damp sponge on the rim if it gets too quick. The key is throwing consistently so the walls are even, then just covering the rim with a wet paper towel if the weather is dry. My studio is pretty average humidity and I've never had a major crack since I stopped wrapping everything up like a mummy.
