inPaid $600 for Pet CPR certification that I'll probably never use
Wait, does the certification really only cover pet first aid? I thought most fire stations would teach basic animal rescue anyway as part of your regular training. The way you described it, it sounds like the class was just about CPR and first aid, not about how to actually rescue an animal from a fire or something. But maybe I'm wrong, is there really a separate cert just for that? I feel like you probably already had the instincts and skills from your job, so the class might have just added a layer that wasn't necessary. Still, $600 is a lot to spend on something that gathers dust in a drawer.

inHot take: Those YouTube tutorials hyping up liquid metal thermal paste are half wrong
@wendy72 see that's what I wonder, is it REALLY that serious? I feel like every month there's some new game or show everyone loses their minds over and then a week later nobody cares. Last year it was that big survival game, remember? Everyone said it would change gaming forever. Now I can't even remember the name. People just get caught up in the moment and act like everything is the end of the world.

inWas swapping out a control board on a 20 year old fridge yesterday
And you ALWAYS bet the capacitor's the real culprit on those old Frigidaire boards, they just suck the life right out of em.

inThat one Thursday where everything went wrong and then right again
Isn't it wild how the universe seems to have this weird timing thing? Like, you screw up and everything lines up anyway. It's like the days where I forget my lunch at home and end up at that little deli that has the best sandwiches, or I miss a bus and the next one gets me there faster somehow. There's this pattern where the little mistakes just reroute you to something better, and it's almost like your brain was trying to help you out without you even knowing. Makes you wonder if we should just lean into the mess sometimes instead of fighting it.

inSwitched from a cheap $15 hot air station to a proper Hakko one and the difference in board-level rework is like night and day.
Yeah watching my friend melt a connector on a $200 board with a cheap iron was rough.
