Hit 500 deep sky photos processed this week and it changed my mind about stacking
Honestly I used to think stacking was overrated, like just take a single long exposure and call it done. But after hitting 500 frames on the Orion Nebula last Tuesday from my backyard in Tucson, I tried stacking them all in DSS and the difference was insane. The detail in the dust lanes came out way clearer than any single shot I've done before. Anyone else have a number that made them change their workflow?

...and were you already using a tracker or mount that let you get 500 usable frames? Cause I feel like without good polar alignment the sub count doesn't matter as much. Curious what your setup was for that run, especially the sub length and ISO.
