Heard a landscaper in Austin say 'a fence is only as good as the dirt around it' while I was grabbing coffee this morning.

It made me rethink how I prep the soil and backfill every single post hole, especially in that heavy clay, to prevent future lean.

I had a 240V feed arc out on me while installing a new panel in an old Chicago bungalow last month

Wait, you're telling me brand new lugs can come with burrs right out of the package? That's crazy... I just assumed they were good to go. Good looking out @charles678, I never would have thought to check for that. A surprise arc flash is the last thing anyone needs when they're just trying to get a job done. I'm definitely adding that quick finger check to my routine now.

I've always just used a regular hammer for my rock samples, but my professor lent me a proper geological hammer for a field trip to the Badlands.

Yeah, @taylorhunt has a point about the shale. It's like that with so many things, the right tool just WORKS with the material instead of fighting it. Makes me wonder how many other daily jobs we're doing the hard way.
