Old guy at a star party in Flagstaff told me my $600 telescope was 'just a light bucket'
He let me look through his hand built 8 inch dob and I could actually see the Cassini division for the first time. Been chasing that view ever since with my own gear. Anyone else get humbled at a star party and come home with a shopping list?
