inRant: I read that the average American spends $1,500 a year on impulse buys at checkout lines.
Absolutely, it's on us. Saw that same report and it made me check my own bank statement. Felt sick realizing how much I've dropped on gum, phone chargers, and those dumb little snacks just because they were right there. The stores are never going to remove that stuff, it's pure profit for them. We just have to be the adults and walk past it.

My interns just break things. I'm still finding glue fingerprints from last summer's "help.

inQuestion about fixing a leaky shower valve after a hotel stay
Actually, jamming a torx bit in can make it worse if it's really stripped. You're better off using a small screw extractor kit, they're made for this. That way you can pull the screw cleanly without wrecking the handle.

Honestly, I'd have probably given the same bad advice and missed out too.

inI thought the 'cold seal' trick for attaching punties was just shop talk until I saw it work on a cracked bowl in Seattle.
That "shop talk" thing is everywhere, like when a weird old car fix actually works perfectly.
