Stacking 200 photos vs. my old single-shot approach, huge difference
Back in March I used to just snap one long exposure of the Orion Nebula and hope for the best. Last week I finally tried stacking 200 frames in DeepSkyStacker, took maybe 40 minutes of work. The detail in the dust lanes is unreal, I could actually see the trapezium stars for the first time. Did anyone else fight against stacking for years because it felt like too much software hassle?

Ha, "hope for the best" was basically my whole astrophotography strategy for years. My first stacked attempt made me feel like I'd been taking pictures with a potato this whole time.
