Saw a house in Marietta with a driveway poured right up to the fence line, who's in the wrong?
Neighbor says it's fine since it's his dirt, but now rain runs straight into the fence posts and mine are leaning 2 inches after the storms in July. Do you make him fix the drainage or just split the cost of a french drain and keep the peace?
Who actually owns the problem when water crosses a property line? I used to say split it and move on, keep things friendly, all that. Then my buddy did that exact thing in Smyrna and two years later the fence was toast anyway because the real issue was the grade, not the drain. The french drain helped but his neighbor kept dumping more water his way. Cost him way more in the end than just making the guy fix his side. So now I'd say make him deal with the runoff first, that's on him.
