Had the worst Monday of my career last week with a bumper repair
A customer dropped off a 2019 Civic with a cracked rear bumper around 9 AM. I started sanding and prepping it, but the filler I used just wouldn't cure right in the cold shop air. Then my paint gun clogged halfway through the primer coat, and I had to stop and clean it twice. By 4 PM I was still behind and the customer was calling asking when it'd be done. Has anyone else had a day where every little thing went sideways like that?

Man I never really thought about warming the filler up like that. I always figured cold shop air just meant working slower, not that the product itself was the problem. That pocket trick sounds smart though, gonna try that next time. And honestly I hadn't even considered water in the lines messing with the gun that way, I just blamed the primer or bad luck. Makes a lot more sense now that you break it down like that.

Stop letting your filler freeze on you man. You gotta warm those cans or tubes up before you use them in a cold shop, otherwise it's gonna be a nightmare every time. Stick the filler and hardener in your pocket for twenty minutes or set em near a heater. Also check your compressor for water in the lines, that'll mess up your paint gun worse than anything. The clogging thing sounds like you might have old primer or a mixing issue, not just bad luck. Next time mix a small test batch first and let it sit in the cold to see how it acts before you go full speed on the car.
