That tip about skipping primer on plastic bumpers? Yeah, don't do that.

Ngl, a guy at the parts counter told me I could save time by skipping the adhesion promoter on urethane bumpers. Tried it on a 2018 Civic last week and the paint started peeling within 3 days. Anyone else get bad advice from someone who seemed like they knew what they were talking about?

Tried skipping adhesion promoter on a Toyota Corolla bumper once. Paint started flaking around the edges in about a week. Had to sand it all down and start over with the proper stuff. Best thing I did was just spend the extra 10 bucks on a can of Bulldog adhesion promoter. It bonds to plastic bumpers way better than standard primer ever did.
