A lead tech at my shop in Reno told me to quit guessing at electrical gremlins and start voltage drop testing
I was chasing a no crank on a 2011 Silverado and swapped the starter, the ignition switch, and two relays before the lead tech walked over and asked if I had actually measured voltage drop on the ground cable. He showed me the frame ground reading 1.8 volts under load, which was the whole problem, and a $6 cable fixed it. Now I always grab my meter first, so what is the one shortcut you used to take that another tech made you drop?
