Can we talk about mechanics not checking the torque converter bolts on a 4L60E rebuild before dropping the trans back in?
I've seen three shops in town skip this step, and it always leads to a comeback for a vibration at 45 mph.

Have to disagree based on my own shop time. We always seat the converter and spin it to check clearance. The real issue is often not the bolt torque itself, but failing to properly seat the converter into the pump gears before bolting it to the flexplate. That's what causes the pump damage and vibration.

Yeah, I read the same thing in a manual once, and @holly_green82 is right about the pump gear seating being the critical step.
