Just realized a loose ground wire was my intermittent no-start issue
For weeks, a customer's car would not start sometimes. Checked battery, starter, everything. Finally found a corroded ground strap behind the engine. Cleaned it up, tightened it, problem solved. Now I check grounds first on electrical gremlins.

Yeah, that loose connection moving around is the worst. I had a truck with a bad ground to the frame that made the gauges go crazy only when turning left. It's crazy how such a simple thing can make so many random problems.

Behind the engine? That's a terrible spot to look... I'm shocked you even found it there. Most folks would stop after testing the battery and starter. A corroded strap in that hidden spot is such a tricky fault. It totally explains why the problem came and went... the loose connection was probably moving around. I guess checking grounds first really is the smart move.

Admit I used to doubt ground checks, but finding one behind the engine changed my tune.
