A dealer in Tucson tried to sneak a $900 warranty charge past me

I went in for a simple oil change and tire rotation last Tuesday at a big dealership near Oracle Road. While I was waiting, the finance guy handed me a sheet that listed an extended warranty at $900 for 36 months. I almost signed it because I was just skimming, but my buddy who works at a body shop told me last month to always ask for the itemized contract breakdown. Turns out it also had a $75 admin fee and a $40 documentation charge that they tried to blend into the monthly payment. I said no thanks and walked out, then called two independent shops and they both quoted half that price for the same coverage through a third-party provider. Have any of you caught dealerships hiding warranty costs in the fine print like that?

So a guy handed you a paper and you almost signed without reading it, and that's the dealer's fault how? Every contract has fees and add-ons listed somewhere, that's just how car buying works, and nobody held a pen to your hand. You did the right thing saying no, but calling it sneaky when you had to skim a form you chose not to read feels like a stretch.
