I thought the dealer was scamming me on the extended warranty, but the fine print saved me $2,100
When I bought my 2018 Silverado in Reno, the finance guy pushed a $2,400 extended warranty and I almost walked out because I figured it was a total rip off. Six months later my transmission started slipping and the repair quote was $2,100, but the warranty covered it minus a $100 deductible because I actually read the part about the powertrain being included. Has anyone else had a dealer warranty actually come through like that, or did I just get lucky with the timing?
Two grand in repairs on a Silverado at six months old sounds less like a warranty win and more like a truck that was already hurting when you drove it off the lot lol. A transmission should not be slipping at that age no matter what the paper says.
