Paid $1,900 for an extended warranty on a 2016 Civic and finally did the math on it
I bought the thing at the dealership in Reno back in 2019 mostly because the finance guy kept talking over me. Fast forward to last month, my AC compressor died and the repair was $1,150, all covered minus a $100 deductible. So after 5 years I'm still about $650 in the hole on it, and now I'm wondering if I should ride it out or just eat the loss. Anyone here actually come out ahead on one of these, or is it just a math problem that never works in your favor?
