Showerthought: my warranty claim took 3 days before I started keeping every receipt, now it's more like 3 weeks
So here's the thing that's got me going back and forth. Two years ago I filed a claim on my truck's transmission and the shop had the approval in like 3 days, no big deal. Last month I filed one for a water pump and it dragged out almost 3 weeks, and the only thing that changed on my end is that now I staple every single receipt and work order into a folder. My buddy says the slow down is just the warranty companies getting stricter, that they're making everybody jump through more hoops no matter what you send them. But I'm sitting here wondering if all my extra paperwork actually made things worse, like I gave them more stuff to poke at and question. The adjuster actually said to me on the phone, "we just need to verify the timeline on these repairs," which they never said two years ago. So which is it, are the companies just slower now or did I create my own problem by over-documenting? Has anyone else noticed claims dragging out way longer lately, and did cutting back on paperwork help or hurt?
