Appreciation post: That intermittent fault on a Garmin G1000 system took me 14 hours to find

It was a single pin in a D-sub connector on the GIA 63W unit that had backed out maybe a millimeter, just enough to lose signal when the airframe vibrated. I chased it through the whole harness and LRUs before I finally spotted it. Has anyone else had a connector issue waste that much of your day?

I used to think connector checks were a waste of time until a single pin in an ARINC 429 coupler cost me a full shift.

Connector issues are the worst. A good pin drag gauge finally saved me from those all-day hunts.

What brand of gauge did you end up going with... mine seems to drift after a few months.
