Had a nightmare week with a Garmin G5000 install that just kept fighting me

Started off Monday thinking I'd have this panel swap done by Wednesday... but the wiring diagram had a misprint on the power distribution page. Took me two full days just to trace where the 28V was actually going instead of where it was supposed to go. Then Thursday I found a bad ground loop in the audio panel that made the radios sound like a wasp nest. By Friday I had to re-pin three connectors because the harness was assembled backwards at the factory. Anyone else run into wiring diagrams that are just plain wrong from the manufacturer?

You mentioned re-pinning three connectors because the harness was "assembled backwards," but it's more likely the pins were just put in the wrong cavities, not the whole connector flipped around. I've seen that a lot where the factory uses the wrong color code on a pinout sheet and the whole row gets shifted over one slot. Still a nightmare to fix, no argument there.

Start by saying it sounds like that harness was made by the same guy who wired my toaster last week lol. I swear sometimes these factories just throw pins in and hope for the best. The misprint on the power distribution page is the kind of thing that makes you want to pull your hair out, especially after you've already spent two days chasing ghosts. A bad ground loop on top of that just adds insult to injury. Honestly, at that point I'd be ready to fight the wiring diagram itself like a boxing match. You've got way more patience than me for not just walking away and setting the whole thing on fire by Friday lmao.
