Used to always take the Pacific Crest Trail southbound, but I switched after mile 700.

I thought nobo was overhyped until I hit the Sierra in June and got snowed on for 3 days straight above 10,000 feet. Now I tell folks to check the snowpack reports before picking a direction. Has anyone else flipped routes mid-trip?

Yeah I flipped from nobo to sobo after getting hailed on in Oregon, way more chill weather that way.

Man @burns.fiona you made the smart call honestly. I did nobo and got hailed on in Washington. Thought I was tough. Nope. Just wet and miserable for three straight weeks. My rain fly started leaking and I just accepted my fate as a human sponge out there. Probably should have flipped like you did but I'm stubborn like that.
