Can we talk about those cheap phone telescope adapters from online marketplaces?

I bought a $25 universal phone mount for my scope last month, and the plastic clamp snapped after two uses, so I'm torn between warning people off the cheap stuff or saying it's a fine way to try the hobby before you commit real cash.

Honestly those cheap adapters are such a gamble. Tbh mine broke almost right away too, but it did let me see if I even liked the hobby. Kinda feels like you get what you pay for in the end.

Totally see that with so many things now. It's like the cheap version is just there to help you decide if you want to commit to the real thing.

Yeah they're basically disposable test gear. Just expect it to fail and you won't be mad.
