I made the same cake recipe twice, once with a stand mixer and once by hand.
The first time I tried to cream the butter and sugar with a wooden spoon for my grandma's birthday cake, and it was a dense, sad fail. Last week I borrowed my neighbor's KitchenAid for the same recipe and the texture was totally different, light and perfect. Has anyone else had a tool completely change the game for a classic recipe?

You used a hand mixer for cookies? I always thought you needed a stand mixer for that. The dough gets so thick.
