Heard a guy at the coffee shop say his new watch was running backwards

He said he bought it yesterday and it was fine, but this morning the second hand was moving counter-clockwise. He showed it to me and sure enough, it was ticking the wrong way. Has anyone ever had a digital clock or something show the wrong time for no clear reason?

Got caught in a surprise snowstorm on the High Sierra Trail last June

We were near Hamilton Lakes and the temperature dropped 40 degrees in a few hours. Had to set up the tent in 50 mph winds and wait it out for two days. Anyone else have a trip completely flipped by unexpected weather?

TIL my old wool blanket beats a fancy sleeping bag for car camping

I was packing for a trip to the Red River Gorge and had to pick between my heavy wool blanket or a new 20-degree mummy bag. I went with the blanket because I knew I'd be moving around a lot in the truck bed. It was perfect, stayed warm even when damp from morning fog, and I could wrap up by the fire. Anyone else have a simple piece of gear they keep going back to?

Question about a cold email tip that backfired

My friend told me to send 500 cold emails a day for my startup, saying volume was key. I did that for a month and my domain got flagged as spam, tanking our deliverability. It took another month and a new domain to fix the mess. The advice sounded good but hurt more than it helped. What's a better way to do cold outreach without getting blacklisted?

A kid at the hardware store asked me what a linoleum knife was for

I was grabbing some adhesive in Tacoma last week, and this young guy was looking at tools. He picked up a linoleum knife and asked the clerk what it did. The clerk just shrugged. I stepped in and explained how we used to cut sheet goods with them before click-lock floors took over. It hit me that a basic tool from twenty years ago is now a mystery to some. Do you still keep one in your kit, or is it all utility blades now?

My Instagram giveaway for a free coffee maker got flagged last month

I ran it to grow my small cafe's page, but the rules were too vague and Instagram said it broke their promotion rules. Has anyone else had a giveaway shut down and found a better way to do them?
