Overheard my sister saying she uses margarine in her pie crusts...

I was at a family dinner last week and she casually mentioned it like it was normal. Her last apple pie had a crust so tough you could've used it as a coaster. Has anyone else dealt with a relative who insists on bad shortcuts?

Margarine in a pie crust, no way! Butter is basically the only thing that gives it that flaky texture, and you can taste the difference immediately. Your sister's tough crust story is making me cringe because I've been there myself with fake shortcuts.

Claire, is it really that deep over some butter?
