ATM ate my card and then it rained inside the lobby

Last Tuesday at the Chase on 5th and Main, I tried to deposit a check after 7pm and the machine jammed, then it just sucked my card in and showed a blue screen. I stood there for 20 minutes pressing buttons while a security guard watched me like I was casing the place. Finally some guy from the cleaning crew unlocked the side door and said 'this happens every week, call the number on the wall.' I did, and they said my card would be mailed in 5 to 7 days, but the real kicker was the ceiling started dripping right onto the keypad while I waited on hold. Has anyone else had a branch machine eat a card during off-hours and get zero help from the 24/7 line? What'd you do for a week without your debit card?

Dripping on the keypad while you're on hold is just insult to injury. Like the machine already took your card and ruined your night, now the building is falling apart on you too. I'd be paranoid it was going to short out the whole thing and fry my info or something. That cleaning guy saying "this happens every week" is wild, they know it's broke and just leave it like that. Five to seven days without a card in 2024 feels like a month, I would've been begging them to overnight it. Hope you had cash stashed somewhere, cause that's a rough week for sure.
