Got a shocking fee reversal from my credit union in Tulsa

Last month I got hit with a $39 overdraft fee on a $4 coffee because my paycheck posted a day late, so I called the credit union on a whim to complain. The rep told me they have a one-time courtesy reversal policy they don't advertise, and she removed it in about 3 minutes. Has anyone else stumbled on hidden fee waivers like this, and what's the best line to use when asking for them?

The real trick is getting them to put the policy in writing so next time it's not a one-time thing.
