My bank started posting deposits a full day early and my whole budget finally makes sense
I noticed about three months ago that my paycheck was showing up in my account on Wednesday nights instead of Friday mornings, and at first I thought it was just a glitch. Turns out my bank switched to something where they post ACH deposits as soon as they get the notice, sometimes a day or two before the actual pay date. That sounds small but it changed how I pay bills, because I stopped getting hit with the $35 overdraft fee I used to eat maybe twice a month when a bill landed on a Thursday. Over one quarter that's around $210 I kept in my pocket, and I didn't do anything except stop writing checks on Friday morning. The weird part is nobody told me, I just saw the pending line in the app and called to ask why. Has anyone else seen their bank move up deposit times like this, and did it mess with any auto drafts you had set?
