My bank's 'free' wire transfer cost me $35 when I needed to send rent to my landlord fast
I was in a rush last Friday and used my bank's online wire service to send my rent, thinking the advertised 'no fee' applied to all transfers. Turns out the free part was only for transfers between my own accounts, and the $35 fee hit my balance right after. Has anyone else found a cheaper way to send money fast without these hidden costs?

Ugh, my friend got nailed by that last month. She was paying a contractor and saw the "free transfer" banner. Sent the cash, and boom, a $30 "processing fee" appeared. She called the bank and they read the tiny print to her over the phone. She was so mad. Now she uses a different app for person-to-person stuff.

That hidden fee is straight up robbery.

Wasn't that a third-party app fee, not the bank's, @wright.luna?
