Paper ledgers to spreadsheets, then to a proper bank feed at 2am
Ran a tiny food cart in Portland for 3 years. Used to write every transaction in a spiral notebook, add it up in my head at night, and hope the math matched the cash drawer. Got burned twice on double counting and once on a week where I forgot to log card tips. Last month I finally set up a real bank feed that auto-syncs with my bookkeeping app. Now I just match receipts on Sunday mornings. It took about 4 hours to untangle the old mess and I still don't trust it fully. Anyone else make the jump from manual tracking to automated feeds and still keep a backup notebook around just in case?

That 4 hour cleanup, did you find any old mistakes that actually cost you real money?
