PSA: I got my stuck debit card out of a gas station ATM in Denver by gently wiggling it while hitting the cancel button three times.

After the machine ate my card last Tuesday, a desperate, silly move based on an old forum post actually made it pop right back out, so has anyone found another weird fix that worked for a banking glitch?

Gently wiggling it" sounds like a prayer more than a tech fix. I'm shocked that actually worked on a modern machine. That's the kind of magic trick I'd expect from a vending machine, not a bank.

Believe it or not, I once got a deposit to go through at a drive-thru ATM by yelling "please" at the keypad. Felt like a total lunatic, but the receipt printed right after. These machines clearly run on ancient spirits and vague hope. My crew would never let me live it down if they saw me negotiating with a computer.

Honestly, that's amazing it worked! These machines must run on pure chaos and old rituals. My go-to move for a frozen screen is just mashing the clear button like it personally offended me. It feels ridiculous, but sometimes the tech just needs to know who's boss.
