The ATM fee debate, my uncle changed my stance
Had a talk with my uncle Lou last Tuesday at his diner in Jersey. He runs a cash-only place and swears by the $3 ATM surcharge, says it keeps his margins alive on small orders. I always thought fees were just banks gouging people, but he pointed out that the machine pays for itself and the security costs. Now I'm stuck, I still hate paying them as a customer, but I get why businesses defend them. Anyone else flip their view after talking to someone on the other side of the counter?
