Just hit 1000 haircuts in my little shop

I started keeping a tally on a sticky note behind the mirror when I opened. It hit me that each one of those numbers is a person who trusted me with their look. Anyone else track their cuts in a weird way?

Wait, you counted every single one?

And honestly yeah, I did count them. It's like a weird habit I picked up from my grandpa who used to say you can tell a lot about a person by how many times they check in. I mean the quiet ones are usually the most consistent, right? Like the guy who comes in every single morning at 6:45 for a black coffee and muffin, never says more than three words, but I've got his order ready before he even reaches the counter.

That's a beautiful way to see the quiet trust built up in a routine service.
