Spent $40 on a fancy garlic press and it snapped in half on the third clove
Ended up going back to smashing garlic with the flat of my knife and a pinch of salt, which costs zero dollars and works way better, so has anyone else tried both methods and still prefer the old way?

@robert_smith36 I'm gonna push back here... I've got a cheap little zyliss press that cost maybe $15 and it's been going strong for like 6 years now. Smashing garlic with a knife works fine but you lose so much juice and little bits fly everywhere... plus it never gets the cloves as fine as a press does for sauces and dressings. Maybe you just got a dud or a really bad brand or something.

Snapped in half on the third clove" is WILD. I would have been so mad. I've broken cheap ones before but never that fast.
