A cashier in St. Louis changed my mind about rewatching old shows

I was buying snacks for a weekend binge and the guy at the register saw my stack of DVDs. He said, 'You know, I rewatched The Wire for the third time last month and caught a whole subplot I missed before.' It happened right there at the Quick Stop on Grand Avenue. He explained how the second viewing felt totally different because he wasn't just following the main story. Now I'm going back through my old favorites instead of chasing new releases. Anyone else find a rewatch more rewarding than a new show sometimes?

Ngl, I read an article about how our brains pick up on foreshadowing during rewatches. @kelly.daniel, my second run through Breaking Bad was wild because I finally noticed all the little hints about characters from the first season. You're just more relaxed and catch the details you missed when you were worried about the plot.

Rewatches are fun but sometimes people overthink it. Adam_kim, you might just be looking for patterns that weren't really planned. It's a TV show, not a magic trick.
