I think Better Call Saul is way better than Breaking Bad and I'll die on that hill

Used to tell everyone Breaking Bad was the greatest show ever made, but after watching Saul's character arc over 6 seasons I changed my mind completely. Anyone else find the slower burn and character depth in Saul more satisfying than the action in Breaking Bad?

Wait, is it weird that I used to swear by Breaking Bad but now I totally get what @jessicajohnson is saying? For the longest time I was all about the action and the big moments like the train heist or the gunfights. But after I finally sat down and watched Saul all the way through, the little stuff hit me harder. Like that scene where Jimmy is just sitting in the nail salon doing his taxes or when he's trying so hard to impress Chuck by getting the job offer back. Breaking Bad felt like a rollercoaster but Saul feels like watching a friend slowly make terrible choices and you can't look away because you understand why.

Six seasons of watching Jimmy McGill's transformation is some of the best character work I've seen on TV. The slow burn gives you time to actually care about every decision he makes, good or bad. Once you sit with Saul's backstory, Breaking Bad's action feels hollow in comparison.
