Warning: don't start a 7-season show without checking the ending first

I binged all 8 seasons of The Blacklist over 3 months and the finale completely ruined the whole thing for me... the ending felt rushed and left way too many loose ends. Now I look up if a show actually ends well before I start, especially if it ran for more than 5 seasons. Has anyone else had an ending totally kill a show you were loving?

I read somewhere that the writers of The Blacklist admitted they were making it up as they went along after season 3, and honestly that explains everything... felt like they just gave up at the end.

Wait, they actually admitted that out loud? I figured they were just winging it but nobody would ever own up to it in an interview. That makes the last few seasons even harder to rewatch.
